Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
*POWER SEAT MOTOR(S) INOPERATIVE

Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, check for related DTC's set in the MHSAPM and either the DDM and/or the PDM.
NOTE: If there is DTC that is stored, do a wiggle test with related connectors and wiring to attempt to recreate condition.
Does the scan tool display any active DTC's?
Yes
- Refer to the symptom list for the DTC that is set.
- Perform POWER SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Seat System Verification Test
No
- Go To 2
2. MONITOR SEAT SWITCH
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool in door module input/outputs, read the power seat switch position while moving the power seat switch.
Does the switch display change to the correct position?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Check the seat Switch MUX and MUX Return wires from the switch to the door module for an open condition. If OK, replace the power seat switch.

3. DOOR MODULE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool in MSM, actuate the inoperative seat position.
Does the seat move?
Yes
- Replace the appropriate door module.
- Perform POWER SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Seat System Verification Test
No
- Go To 4
4. POWER SEAT MOTOR CIRCUIT
Disconnect the inoperative power seat motor connector.
Connect a test light across the power seat motor driver circuits.
With the scan tool in MSM, actuate the inoperative seat motor and observe the test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the power seat motor as necessary.
- Perform POWER SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Seat System Verification Test
No
- Check the wiring from the seat motor to the MHSAPM for an open condition. If OK, replace the MHSAPM.
