OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves enabling the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). In order to enable the ACC the ACC module, Cabin Compartment Node (CCN) and Electronic Stability Program (ABS) modules require reprogramming.

Dealers should print the last page of the Service Bulletin and inform the customers of the Electronic Speed Control operation and then place a copy of the operation in the Owners' Manual.

MODELS:

2008 (LX) 300/Magnum/Charger

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vehicle operator may experience no cruise control functions or a message displayed on the EVIC "ACC Blinded". This condition could be caused by mud, dirt or snow build up on the ACC sensor. It could also be caused by excessive salt spray while driving. The customer may have had the system disabled per SB 08-005-08. These flashes will re-enable the ACC Cruise system.

NOTE:
If the ACC or ABS modules are replaced in the future for any other reason it will be necessary to preform the flash update to enable the ACC system. The CCN, comes pre programmed so no update is necessary.

DIAGNOSIS:

Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all ACC, ABS and CCN systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If no DTC's are present, perform the Repair Procedure.
