Removal







REMOVAL





The ignition switch attaches to the lock cylinder housing on the end opposite the lock cylinder. For ignition switch terminal and circuit identification, refer to the Wiring Diagrams section.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the Instrument Panel Center Bezel, Instrument Panel Cluster Bezel - Removal Chrysler and Instrument Panel Cluster Bezel - Removal Dodge.




3. Remove side trim panel to steering column cover.




4. Remove the screws that secure the steering column cover to the instrument panel and relocate panel.
5. Pull the steering column cover rearward at the top and right side of the cover to release the snap retainers from the instrument panel.
6. Remove the screws that secure the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement to bracket and remove reinforcement from the vehicle.




7. Remove front mounting nuts.




8. Remove lower mounting nut.




9. Slide assembly rearward into the instrument panel and down to gain access to switch.




10. Disconnect electrical connector from the ignition Switch and SKREEM Module.




11. Remove the interlock cable by depressing the locking tab and pulling straight out.




12. Remove ignition switch mounting screw (3).
13. Squeeze two locking tabs (4) to remove ignition switch (2) from lockhousing (1).
