One Passenger Door Fails To Lock and Unlock

Diagnostic Test

1. OPEN DOOR LOCK MOTOR




Remove the inner door trim panel and gain access to the inoperative Door Latch connector.

NOTE: Graphic shows Passenger Door Lock Motor, all others similar.

Disconnect the Door Latch connector.
Ensure the Passenger Door Module "C1" connector is connected.
Connect a test light between the (P222) Door Lock Driver and the (P292) Door Unlock Driver terminals in the Door Latch connector.
With the scan tool actuate the "Pass Lock Relay" and then the "Pass Unlock Relay" and observe the test light.
Did the test light illuminate when the lock was actuated in both directions?

Yes

- Replace the Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 2

2. (P222) DOOR LOCK DRIVER WIRE OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Module "C1" connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P222) Door Lock Driver circuit between the PDM C1 connector and the Door Latch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P292) Door Unlock Driver wire for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (P222) Door Lock Driver wire for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
