Heated/Cooled Cupholder - Description

DESCRIPTION

On vehicles equipped with the heated/cooled cupholder, the rear cavity of the cupholder can heat or cool the beverage container placed within it. The heated/cooled cupholder unit (1) can heat to 60° C (140° F) or cool to near 1.6° C (35° F). The heated/cooled cupholder consists of a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) ceramic element attached to an aluminum cylinder that forms the side of the cupholder (2), a circuit board (4) that controls the unit's function, a heat sink (5) and a plastic housing with an integral ventilation duct (3) to help dissipate heat. The Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) (6) illuminate blue to indicated when the unit is set to cool, or red to indicate when the unit is set to heat. The heated/cooled cupholder is operated through a switch located in the center console Heated/Cooled Cupholder Switch - Description. The special 531 ml (20 oz.) mug included with the heated/cooled cupholder helps increase the cupholder's effectiveness.

The LED indicator lens can be serviced separately from the heated/cooled cupholder Heated/Cooled Cupholder - Removal.
