B1D16
B1D16-PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
- When Monitored:
Continuously.
- Set Condition:
When the Passenger Door Module senses greater than 4.8 volts on the Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit for over 100 ms., this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, monitor the Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Sense voltage and operate the Passenger Mirror switch and any optional features located in the mirror to see if at any time the voltage is over 4.8 volts.
4. Cycle the ignition from Off to On three times and leave On.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1D16 PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH or is or did the sense voltage go over 4.8 volts?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. TEST FOR A SHORTED PASSENGER MIRROR
1. Disconnect the Passenger Mirror connector.
2. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, monitor the Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Sense voltage and operate the Passenger Mirror switch and any optional features.
4. Cycle the ignition from Off to On three times and leave On.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display the same DTC or is or did the sense voltage go over 4.8 volts?
No
- Go To 3
Yes
- Go To 4
3. TEST THE (P66) PASSENGER MIRROR SENSOR GROUND WIRE FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground and the (Z911) Ground circuit in the Mirror connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms?
No
- Check and repair the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit for an open from the mirror connector to the module connector. If OK, replace the Passenger Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Mirror.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
4. TEST THE (P64) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL POSITION SIGNAL WIRE FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the vehicles negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C4 connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal circuit to each of the other wires in the Passenger Door Module C4 connector.
Is the resistance below 5,000 Ohms between the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Signal circuit and any of the other wires in the C4 connector.
Yes
- Repair the (P64) Passenger Mirror Vertical Position Signal wire for a short to another wire.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
