Side Door Glass Is Inoperable, Binds And/Or Moves Slow
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting glass travel when disconnected from the window regulator.
MODELS:
2010 LX Charger/300
2010 LE 300 (International Only)
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built between July 1, 2009 (MDH 0701 XX) and October 29, 2010 (MDH 1029XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Side Door Glass Is Inoperable, Binds And/Or Moves Slow.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition, proceed to the repair procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Inspect door glass (1) for movement after lifting the door glass out of the regulator clamps (2) as described in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > REGULATOR, Window > Removal (Fig 1).
2. Move the glass by hand up and down and left to right in the glass run to assure glass can move freely in the glass run without binding (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
Do not use a glass run lubricant such as Krytox.
3. Does the glass move freely in the glass run?
a. Yes >>> This bulletin does not apply, further diagnosis required.
b. No >>> Proceed to Step # 4.
4. Remove the side door glass. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Door - Front and/or Rear > GLASS, Door > Removal.
5. Remove and replace the front and/or rear door glass weatherstrip (Fig. 3).
6. Reinstall the side door glass. Refer to the detailed installation procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Door - Front/Rear > GLASS, Door > Installation.
NOTE:
Do not engage the glass into the two window regulator glass clamps at this time.
7. Move the glass by hand up and down in the glass run to assure glass can move freely in the glass run without binding.
8. Does the glass move freely in the glass run?
a. Yes >>> Proceed to Step # 9.
b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply, further diagnosis required.
9. Continue the detailed side door glass installation procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Door - Front/Rear > GLASS, Door > Installation.
10. Cycle the window switch to verify window operation.
11. Does the window move properly?
a. Yes >>> Return the vehicle to the customer.
b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply, further diagnosis required.
