Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to SOHC Engine Mechanical, or DOHC Engine Mechanical.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the knock sensor.




4. Remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the knock sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb.ft).




2. Connect the electrical connector at the knock sensor.
3. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to SOHC Engine Mechanical, or DOHC Engine Mechanical.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
