Diagnosis Prerequisite

Before proceeding with system service, record diagnosis (trouble) codes, then disconnect battery ground cable. Any diagnosis codes retained by the computer will automatically be erased when the battery ground cable is removed. Do not smoke or work on this system with an open flame. Keep gasoline away from rubber components.

When conducting troubleshooting procedures, use a volt/ohmmeter with an internal resistance of 1M ohms or more. No consideration has been made for displacement of timing belt teeth so check that the timing belt exhibits no signs of slippage.
