Refer to Figs. 32 and 33 for trouble code identification and description. If the Check Engine lamp fails to flash it is likely that the ECU is malfunctioning.

1. Normal System operation is indicated by the Check Engine lamp blinking once every 4.5 seconds.
2. If the ECU has detected a system malfunction, the Check Engine lamp will blink a number of times to equal to the malfunction code with an interval of 2.5 seconds between codes. After all stored codes have been read, there will be a 4.5 second pause and all codes will repeat.
