Ignition Timing: Adjustments

Ignition timing should be checked and adjusted whenever spark plugs are replaced or any distributor maintenance is performed. Ignition timing at 1000 RPM or less should be as follows: on 1989 1.3L/4-79 engines, 3-7° BTDC; on 1990-92 1.3L/4-79 engines, 0-2°; on 1.6L/4-97 engines, 1-5°.
