A/T - 727 Repeated Low Reverse Band Burnout

TSB: 87-57 (Oct.)

SUBJECT: 727

PROBLEM: Repeated low reverse band burnout.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
Cross leaks, allowing fluid to partially apply the low reverse servo while the vehicle is moving forward.

CURE:
Always do the best possible job, to insure that the valve body is flat on its mating surfaces.

Just in case this is not enough, drill a 1/16" hole into the low reverse servo piston, and install a small cotter key in the hole.

This procedure is the same as used on the T-35 transmission.
