Verification Test VER-1
1. Inspect the vehicle for loose, missing, or damaged vacuum lines and/or electrical wires/connections. Repair as necessary. Try to start the engine. If the engine will not start, go to TEST NS-1A.2. IF THE Engine STARTS AND THE PCM HAS BEEN CHANGED:
a. If the vehicle is equipped with a factory theft alarm, start the vehicle at least 20 times to make the theft alarm operational.
b. Update the Emission Maintenance Reminder (EMR) mileage in the new PCM [1].
b. The no start condition has been corrected.
3. IF THE Engine IS ABLE TO START AND THE PCM HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED:
a. Connect the scan tool to the engine diagnostic connector and erase faults.
b. The no start condition has been corrected and fault messages have been erased.
