Each diagnostic trouble code is diagnosed by following a specific testing sequence. It is not necessary to perform all of the tests in this book to diagnose an individual code.
Always begin by reading the diagnostic trouble codes. This procedure is contained in Test 1A. This will direct you to the specific test(s) that must be performed in response to the diagnostic trouble code.
The diagnostic test procedures contain step-by-step instructions for determining the cause of an air bag diagnostic trouble code. Possible sources of the code are checked and eliminated one by one.
Two types of Diagnostic Trouble Codes may be read using the DRB II; active and stored. Active faults are existing codes that may become stored faults when the ignition is turned to the off position.
