3.4 Active Codes and 3.5 Stored Codes

If a malfunction is detected, the "Air Bag" lamp remains lit (with the exception of a Warning Lamp Short or a Warning Lamp Open fault) as long as the malfunction is present. An active code is displayed as long as the fault exists. Most active codes will become stored codes when the ignition is turned to the off position. It is impossible to erase an active code.

3.5 STORED CODES

A stored code indicates there was an active code present when the ignition was turned to the off position. The active code may or may not still be present.

Stored diagnosbc trouble codes remain in storage until they are erased using the DRB II "Erase Codes" function. More than one code may be stored. NOTE: Ignition One Low and Ignition Two Low are not stored.
