"B"-Post Area Rattle Noise

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 23-54-95, DATED AUG. 18, 1995, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. STEP 3 AND 5 OF THE REPAIR PROCEDURE ARE REVISED AND HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS**.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

A rattle noise can be heard in the "B"-post area(s) when the vehicle is driven over uneven road surfaces.

DIAGNOSIS:





Open the sliding door(s) and inspect the sliding door stabilizer sockets (2 per "B"-post) for a fully flocked (fuzzy) surface facing the sliding door. If the sliding door stabilizer sockets are not fully flocked, perform the Repair Procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

AR 4675514 Socket, Sliding Door Stabilizer

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacing all sliding door stabilizer sockets with revised parts.

1. Open the sliding door and remove the two sliding door stabilizer sockets on the "B"-post.

2. Install two new stabilizer sockets (P/N 4675514). Torque the screws to 40 - 60 in.lbs. (5 - 6 Nm).

3. Loosen the screws attaching the sliding door stabilizers **and the plunger assembly for the power door lock contacts.** Then loose torque them to 10 in.lbs. (1 Nm).

4. Close and open the sliding door.

5. Torque the screws attaching the stabilizers to the sliding door**and the plunger assembly for the power door lock contacts** to 40 - 60 in. lbs. (5 - 6 Nm).

6. Repeat steps 1 thru 5 for the other sliding door if so equipped.
