Service Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist until the wheel well is at working level (shoulder height).





2. Remove the four (4) push clips which secure the left rear fender well splash shield to the body and then remove the splash shield (Figure 1).





3. Locate the notched out (half moon shape) edge of the steel flange at the top of the filler tube. This notched out area is located directly inboard of the lower filler tube mounting screw (Figure 2).





4. Clip one end of the provided ground strap to the notched out section of the filler tube steel flange so that the open end of the clip is pointing down and rearward on the flange (Figure 3).

CAUTION:
Do not attach the ground strap to the black plastic filler tube mounting flange.





5. Using the three (3) provided tie straps, secure the ground strap to the bottom surface of the filler tube at the following locations (Figure 4):

^ One tie strap at the top of the filler tube between the steel flange and the vent tubes.
^ One tie strap at the first bend from the top of the filler tube.
^ One tie strap at the second bend from the top of the filler tube.





6. Clip the other end of the ground strap to the rear edge of the filler tube blocker bracket (Figure 5).
7. Reinstall the left rear wheel splash shield using the provided push clips.
8. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
