Paint Chipping At The Upper Front Corner Of The Sliding Door(s)

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built prior to Nov. 22, 1995 (MDH 1122XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Paint is chipped at the upper front corner of the sliding door(s) and/or the adjacent area of the "B"-post.

DIAGNOSIS:

Open the sliding door(s) and check for chipped paint at the upper front corner of the sliding door(s) and/or the accent area of the "B-post. If chipping is discovered, perform the Repair Procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

AR 4717377 Bumper, Sliding Door Overslam (1 Per Sliding Door)

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing an overslam bumper on the sliding door and touching up chipped paint at the upper front corner of the sliding door(s) and/or the accent area of the "B"-post.





1. Open the sliding door and determine the location where the overslam bumper will be installed on the sliding door. Refer to the illustration.
2. Clean the surface of the sliding door where the overslam bumper will be installed with isopropyl alcohol or similar cleaner.
3. Peel off the backing from the overslam bumper and stick it on the sliding door.
4. Touch-up any paint chips on the sliding door and adjacent area of the "B"-post as necessary.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the other sliding door if equipped.
