Owner Letter
Dear Chrysler Minivan Owner:As the owner of a 1996 or 1997 model year Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, or Plymouth Voyager minivan equipped with integrated child safety seats, we know you were concerned about child safety and convenience when you purchased your minivan. While integrated child seats are simple to use, it is important that you understand the proper way to use them.
Some owners have experienced problems with release of the restraint latch and removal of their child from the seat. To help ensure your child's safety and to get the most operational benefit from these seats, Chrysler is sending the enclosed instructional video tape and two chest clips.
Food particles, beverage spills, toys and other debris can collect and prevent the latch from operating properly. The thirteen minute video explains what to do in the event that the latch becomes stuck and provides instruction on the care and maintenance of the buckle-latch-retractor mechanism. It also contains important safety information regarding: the size of children that may use these seats; securing and removing children from these seats; use of the chest clip; and other helpful tips. Be sure to follow the few, simple steps required to keep the child seat problem-free.
Please take the time to review the video. Then keep it handy by placing it in the front seat storage bin beneath the passenger seat with the Integrated Child Seat Owner's Manual Supplement and the vehicle Owner's Manual. Now it is stored for reference for you and future owners, if your vehicle is sold.
Remember, the safest place for all children is in the rear seats of your minivan with their seat belts securely fastened. As we say, when it comes to children, "The Back Is Where It's At!"
