Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications
CYLINDER HEAD TORQUE & SEQUENCETighten the cylinder head bolts in the following sequence, using the 4 step torque-turn method. Tighten according to the following torque values:
- Step 1: All 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.)
- Step 2: All 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.)
- Step 3: All (again) 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.)
- Step 4: + 90° Turn Do not use a torque wrench for this step.
HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE
The cylinder head bolts must be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down the bolts must be replaced.
SURFACE VARIATION - HEAD-TO-BLOCK
Deck surface must be within service limit of 0.1 mm (0.004 in.).
INTAKE MANIFOLD TORQUE & SEQUENCE
Intake Manifold - Lower 28 Nm (250 in.lbs.)
Intake Manifold - Upper 12 Nm (105 in.lbs.)
- Starting in the center working outward in a cross sequence pattern.
CAMSHAFT SPROCKET
Camshaft Sprocket Bolt Right Side 102 + 1/4 Turn Nm (75 + 1/4 Turn ft.lbs.)
Camshaft Sprocket Bolt Left Side 102 + 1/4 Turn Nm (75 + 1/4 Turn ft.lbs.)
EXHAUST MANIFOLD TORQUE & SEQUENCE
Exhaust Manifold Bolts 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.)
