HELP USING THE WiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE WiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.
THE WiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 12.01 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

Flash: Power Liftgate Module Software Enhancements
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Power Liftgate Module (PLGM) with new software. This new software includes the addition of functional DTCs.
MODELS:
2011 (WD) Durango
2011 (WK) Grand Cherokee
2011 (W2) (CKD) Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to WD, WK, and W2 vehicles built prior to June 26, 2011 (MDH 0626XX) equipped with Power Liftgate (sales code JRC).
NOTE:
If the vehicle was built before September 3, 2010 (MDH 0903XX), please refer to Service Bulletin 08-007-11.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
When diagnosing a power liftgate complaint there will be no active or stored Power
Liftgate DTCs associated with this condition.
DIAGNOSIS:
Before attempting to diagnose a customer complaint perform the software flash update.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.
NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.
1. Flash reprogram the PLGM. Help using the WiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing the PLGM is made available through the WiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP" tab on upper portion of the WiTECH window then "HELP CONTENTS." This will open the Welcome to WiTECH Help screen where help topics can be selected.
2. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
3. Perform the Power Liftgate Learn/Relearn Cycle standard procedure available in DealerCONNECT / TechCONNECT > Group 08 - Electrical > 8E - Electronic Control Modules > MODULE Power Liftgate Control > Standard Procedure
4. Verify proper functioning of the Power Liftgate
