B1645-REAR LEFT TURN CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN

- When Monitored:
With the Turn Signal active.
- Set Condition:
When the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects an open or short to battery on the left rear turn lamp driver circuit.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase all TIPM DTCs.
3. Turn the Left Turn Signal on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC B1645-REAR LEFT TURN CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL BULB
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Inspect the Left Rear Turn Signal Bulb Assembly.
Is the inoperative bulb OK?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the inoperative bulb.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
3. (L63) LEFT REAR TURN LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (L63) Left Rear Turn Lamp Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (L63) Left Rear Turn Lamp Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
4. TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM)
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Measure the voltage between ground and the (L63) Left Rear Turn Lamp Driver circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair short to voltage on the (L63) Left Rear Turn Lamp Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
