B2328-WASHER FLUID LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
When the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects an high voltage condition on the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit.

1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. (W1) WASHER FLUID LEVEL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the TIPM C4 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Front Washer Fluid Level Sensor harness connector.
4. Turn the Ignition on.
5. Using a 12-volt test light, check the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Repair the short to voltage in the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. JUMPER THE (W1) WASHER FLUID LEVEL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT TO THE (G931) SENSOR GROUND AND CHECK THE VOLTAGE

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reconnect the TIPM C4 harness connector.
3. Connect a jumper between the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Sensor circuit and the (G931) Sensor Ground circuit.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read Washer Fluid Levels.

Does the scan tool display Normal?

Yes

- Replace the Front Washer Fluid Level Sensor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 4

4. (W1) WASHER FLUID LEVEL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the jumper wire.
3. Disconnect the TIPM C4 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit between the Front Washer Fluid Level Sensor harness connector and the TIPM C4 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Repair the open in the (W1) Washer Fluid Level Switch Sense circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

5. (G931) SENSOR GROUND OPEN

1. Measure the resistance of the (G931) Sensor Ground between the Front Washer Fluid Level Sensor harness connector and the TIPM C4 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the open in the (G931) Sensor Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
