The emission maintenance lamp will illuminate after 1000 hours of engine operation to indicate that the oxygen sensor must be replaced. After performing the required service, the emission maintenance E-Cell timer must be replaced for the next 1000 hour interval.

This timer is located in the passenger compartment, attached to the wiring harness leading to the MCU. To replace timer, remove printed circuit board, then remove timer from its enclosure and insert replacement timer.
