Brake Pad: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove some fluid from reservoir.
3. Disconnect brake pad wear warning lamp electrical connector.
4. Return piston into its bore by sliding caliper outward.
5. Remove lower caliper guide attaching bolt. Remove caliper by rotating it up from guide pivot and sliding it from upper guide pivot.
6. Remove brake pads.
7. Reverse procedure to install. After removal of brake pads, inspect disc brake rotor. Do not machine rotor. Replace rotor if excessive wear or scoring is evident.
