Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then unfasten brake caliper and position aside.
3. Remove hub nut and the hub using a suitable tool.
4. If replacing hub, remove bearing race using a suitable tool.
INSTALLATION
1. If necessary, install new bearing race in hub using a suitable press.
2. Lubricate bearing surface of hub with suitable chassis grease.
3. Insert hub on end of driveshaft and tap with a brass hammer until driveshaft extends past hub.
4. Install driveshaft nut and torque to specifications.
5. Install brake rotor and caliper, then the wheel and tire assembly.
