SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Manual transaxle shift lever vibration caused by the transaxle control cables (shift cable-and select cable) rattling against each other.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure outlines a method for eliminating shift lever vibration. See Figure 1 for reference.
1. Obtain a suitable nylon (plastic) tie wrap approximately 5" (127 mm) long.
2. Place tie wrap around shift cable and select cable.
3. Position tie wrap approximately 2-2.5 inches (50-60 mm) from collar of select cable.
4. By using the tie wrap, pull cables together until the shift cable contacts the select cable. Tie wrap should hold cables together securely.
5. Be sure that control cables maintain a clearance of .75 inch (20 mm) or more from the heater hose.
