This system monitors regular service and maintenance intervals, engine oil level, engine coolant level, windshield washer fluid level, brake and tail lamps, door ajar, transaxle (models with 2.5L engine) and oil, coolant and washer sensors.

When the vehicle is started and no faults are present the display will indicate "MONITOR." If the monitor detects a fault, it will be noted on the display. If more than one fault is noted, the fault of the highest priority will be displayed first. The display will then note all existing faults and return to the fault of highest priority. The VMM fault messages are as follows:

When the VMM display reads Service (Perform Required Service and Maintenance) at 7,500 mile intervals to indicate that required service is to be performed. After performing the required service, depress Reset select switch until a beep is noted.
