Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

1. Check Wiper Fuse, replace if necessary.
2. Check for battery voltage at fuse input. If no voltage is found repair the open circuit from the ignition switch.
3. Check for ground from the wiper motor frame/housing. If not grounded repair the open ground.
4. With ignition switch in the ON position place wiper switch on LO. Check for battery voltage at pin 4 on the wiper motor connector. IF no voltage repair for open, either in circuit or switch. If voltage is found at the connector, ground is intact, and wipers do not operate, the motor is shorted.
5. With ignition switch in the ON position place wiper switch on HI. Check for battery voltage at pin 1 on the wiper motor connector. IF no voltage repair for open, either in circuit or switch. If voltage is found at the connector, ground is intact, and wipers do not operate, the motor is shorted.
