Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

1. Lift up on drivers side wiper arm, then bend retainer tab fully from wiper arm.
2. Remove drivers wiper arm assembly from arm shaft, then disconnect center and drivers washer hoses.
3. Lift up on passengers side wiper arm, then bend retainer tab fully from wiper arm.
4. Remove passengers wiper arm assembly from arm shaft.
5. Remove cowl screen hold-down bolts, then turn cowl screen locking screws 1/4 turn.
6. Remove left screen by sliding toward rear of car.
7. Using suitable fork, remove ball end of link by lifting upward.
8. Move linkage to maximum right position.
9. Hold motor crank arm, then remove center shaft locknut and spacer.
10. Remove motor crank arm from shaft, then the depressed park linkage.
11. Remove three wiper motor mounting bolts, then disconnect motor electrical connectors.
12. Disconnect washer hose at base of center tee fitting.
13. Remove wiper motor and linkage assembly.
14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque crank arm to motor shaft to 16 ft. lbs.
b. Install center wiper arm onto shaft so that tip of blade is 0-2.5 inches.
c. Install left wiper arm onto shaft so that tip of blade is 1.5-3.75 inches above grille.
d. Cycle wipers once allowing them to park. Ensure wipers rest in park position.
