SYMPTOM/CONDITION
The heater or air conditioner mode selector may indicate an incorrect mode or be difficult to operate. This may be caused by a bent mode selection control cable.
PARTS REQUIRED
1 Vinyl Sleeve PN MB849123

REPAIR PROCEDURE
To prevent binding or bending of the mode selection control cable a vinyl sleeve must be added to the mode selection damper lever. This lever is located on the left side of the heater unit directly above the distribution floor duct (Figure 1).
1. Inspect the mode selection control cable. If it is bent, replace it as outlined in the 1990 Laser/Talon Service Manual Publication # 81-270-0501.
2. Move the mode selection knob to the defrost position.

3. Slide the vinyl sleeve (PN MB849123) onto the tab of the mode selection damper lever (Figure 2).
