Step 3. Engine Installation to Transaxle & Cradle

INSTALLATION TO TRANSAXLE/CRADLE
1. Prior to connecting the engine to the transaxle, ensure that the torque converter is pushed back completely into the pump.
2. Install the top transaxle mounting bolts and alignment stud nuts. Tighten the bolts and nuts to 65 Nm (48 ft.lbs.) torque.
3. Install the transaxle road speed sensor.
4. Install and adjust the transmission kick-down cable at the throttle body.
5. Connect the transmission oil cooler hoses.
6. Install the torque converter to drive plate bolts. Tighten these bolts to 33 Nm (24 ft.lbs.) torque.
7. Install the access cover.
8. Lower the engine into the cradle.
9. Tighten the engine mount stud and nuts to 4O Nm (30 ft.lbs.) torque.
10. Install the differential cover bolt. Tighten the bolt to 27 Nm (20 ft.lbs.) torque.
11. Install the starter motor. Tighten the bolts to 42 Nm (31 ft.lbs.) torque.
12. Disconnect the engine lift or over head crane.
