Idle Speed Regulator

Idle Speed Regulator Testing Equipment:

1. Install the Idle Speed Control (ISC) adapter harness tool# 7195, or equivalent, inline between the idle speed exerciser tool# 7088, or equivalent, and the Idle Speed Regulator (ISR).
2. Connect the idle speed exerciser red lead to the positive battery terminal, and the black lead to the negative battery terminal.
3. Start the engine and push the exerciser button in the extend direction. If the ISR is functioning normally, the engine idle speed will change.
4. If the engine idle speed does not change, remove the ISR from the vehicle, with the adapter and exerciser attached.
5. Operate the exerciser switch from extend to retract while looking through the ISR ports. The ISR valve should open and close while operating the exerciser. If the valve does not operate properly, replace the ISR.
