DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
Safety Recall # 728 -- Motorized Shoulder Belts

^ This service requirement applies only to:

^ 1992 and 1993 Model Year Plymouth Colt Vista Wagon and Eagle Summit Wagon (B8) Vehicles Built Through November 20, 1992 (MDH 1120XX)

^ 1993 Model Year Dodge/Plymouth Colt and Eagle Summit (B9) Four-Door Vehicles Built Through November 20, 1992 (MDH 1120XX)

^ All 1993 Model Year Dodge/Plymouth Colt and Eagle Summit (B9) Two-Door Vehicles

^ The motorized shoulder belt system on the above listed vehicles, may become inoperative. To correct this condition, the door latch switches, which activate the shoulder belt system, must be replaced on all affected vehicles built through November 20, 1992. In addition, the left (driver) side motorized shoulder belt guide rail must be replaced on all 1993 model year Colt/Summit 2-door vehicles.





^ This recall will be launched in three (3) phases as parts become available. The vehicle application and recall number for each phase is as follows:

Notification to owners of vehicles involved in Phase 2 and 3 will occur over the next several weeks.

Parts Packages:

^ Five (5) unique repair packages are required for this recall depending upon the vehicle, options and build date. Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough Phase 1 Switch Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles. Involved dealers will receive about 25% of Phase 2 and 3 parts packages over the next several weeks. PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE APPLICABLE PHASE BEGINS.

Dealers should determine which parts package is required for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the correct part is available when the customer arrives. Refer to the Parts section for details.
