Recall - Motorized Shoulder Belts: Parts

IMPORTANT:
This recall will be implemented in phases as parts become available. Involved dealers will receive, and be billed for, enough phase one (1) Door Latch Switch packages to service 25% of those vehicles. Involved dealers will receive an initial quantity of part packages FOR EACH PHASE before the owner notification for that phase begins. PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE APPLICABLE PHASE BEGINS. Additional part packages may be ordered as needed to support customer demand after that phase has begun.





Dealers should determine which part package is required for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the correct parts are available when the customer arrives. The appropriate package for the vehicle to be serviced may be determined by:

^ Using the part code in the third column of the VIN list along with the table below (the part code matches the last digit of the package part number) (involved dealers)

^ Using VIN lists electronically transmitted to DIAL System Function 53 (involved dealers) or

^ Entering the VIN to DIAL System Functions 69, 70 or VIP to determine the Recall Phase number (fourth digit of the recall number), build date and sales code information, along with the table below. The VIN number is printed on the Owner Notification Form which is enclosed with each owner letter. (all dealers)

Each parts package contains the following components:

NOTE:
The part package for Colt/Summit vehicles built after 11/20/92 (CCB47284), only contains a guide rail.
