Rotation Torque of Limited-Slip Differential Check

Colt Vista & Colt Wagon
1. Set shift lever of transaxle to neutral position, lock front wheels and fully release the parking brake.
2. On Colt Vista models, set the 4WD control switch to Off position.
3. On all models, raise rear of vehicle so only one wheel is not in contact with ground surface.
4. Remove wheel and mount end yoke holder tool No. MB990767 or equivalent, to hub bolts using hub nuts.
5. Using a suitable torque wrench, measure side gear rotation torque in forward direction.
6. If rotation torque is not 5.06 lb-ft, or more on Colt Vista or 1.8 lb-ft, on Colt Wagon, disassemble limited slip differential and inspect each component.
