SUBJECT:
Ignition Switch Accessory Circuit Remains Powered When The Key Is In The "Off" or "Lock" Position
MODELS:
1993 (LH) Intrepid/Vision/Concorde
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
On some vehicles, customers may complain that accessories, such as the radio, wipers, and turn signal lamps still operate when the ignition switch is in the "off" or "lock" position.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the ignition switch circuit (A1-A31) is powered when the ignition switch is in the "off" or "lock" position, proceed with the following repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves replacement of the ignition switch.
1. Replace the ignition switch as described on page 8D-17 of the 1993 Concorde, Intrepid, Vision Service Manual, Publication No. 81-270-3140.
2. It will be necessary to remove the foam from around the old switch before removing the screws and to install it on the new switch after replacing the screws.
