EVAP. Emis. Control Sys. Pressure Sensor Malfunction (CA. FWD)
FAULT IDP0450
TITLE
Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Malfunction (CA. FWD)
BACKGROUND
- The fuel tank differential pressure sensor output the voltage in proportion to the pressure in the fuel tank (differential pressure against the barometric pressure).
- The engine control module checks whether the output voltage of the fuel tank differential pressure sensor is within the specified range.
RANGE OF CHECK
- Intake air temperature: 5°C (41°F) or higher.
- Driving at a constant speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or higher on a flat road.
SET CONDITIONS
The sensor output voltage is 4.5 V (approx. 40 mmHg higher than barometric pressure) or higher for 10 seconds even though the evaporative emission purge solenoid No. 2 is driven at 100% duty.
or
Sensor output voltage is 0.5V (approx. 40 mmHg lower than barometric pressure) or lower for 10 seconds even though the evaporative emission purge solenoid No. 1 and No. 2 are driven at 100% duty.
EFFECT
No Limp-in mode.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Fuel tank differential pressure sensor failed.
- Open or shorted fuel tank differential pressure sensor circuit, or loose connector.
- Engine control module failed.
