Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (CA. FWD)
FAULT IDP0442
TITLE
Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (CA. FWD)
BACKGROUND
- The engine control module opens the purge line and makes the fuel tank in a vacuum state after closing the purge line and the pressure release port in the evaporative canister. Then it closes the purge line again and makes the purge line and fuel tank in a closed state. If the vacuum pressure drop is great (closed to atmospheric pressure) after the closure in a specified time, the engine control module will judge that the leak in the fuel tank, purge line, or vapor line is occurring.
RANGE OF CHECK, SET CONDITIONS
During normal speed driving, when the evaporative emission control system leak monitoring is performed, the great amount of leak was detected.
EFFECT
No Limp-in mode.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Improper tightening of the fuel filler tube cap.
- Fuel tank, purge line or vapor line seal failed.
- Evaporative emission purge solenoid No. 1 failed.
- Evaporative emission purge solenoid No. 2 failed.
- Evaporative emission ventilation solenoid failed.
- Faulty fuel tank differential pressure sensor.
