TRANSAXLE REPLACE
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Raise and support vehicle then drain transaxle fluid.
3. Remove transaxle in numbered sequence shown, noting following:

a. Remove starter motor with starter motor harness attached, then suspend starter motor from frame.
b. Support engine using a suitable floor jack.
d. Remove driveshafts as outlined in Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive sections.
e. Disconnect clutch slave cylinder and suspend to frame leaving oil line connected.
f. On AWD models, cover transfer case opening with cover tool No. MB991193, or equivalent, to prevent oil discharge or entry of foreign objects.
g. Support transaxle assembly using a transaxle jack then after moving transaxle to right, lower it.

4. Reverse procedure to install, keeping driveshaft straight when installing.
