CODE NAME
1st gear incorrect ratio.

CODE DESCRIPTION
If the value resulting from dividing the PG-A output (input shaft rotation speed) by the 1st gear ratio does not match the PG-B output (output shaft rotation speed) after 1st gear is engaged, diagnostic trouble code No. 51 is output. In addition, if related diagnostic trouble codes (Nos. 51, 52, 53 and 54) are output 4 times, there is an incorrect gear ratio, fail-safe code No. 86 is output and the vehicle is locked in 3rd gear (D) or 2nd gear (2, L) as a fail-safe measure.

PROBABLE CAUSE
- Malfunction of pulse generator A or B
- Malfunction of transfer driven gear
- Malfunction of end clutch retainer
- Malfunction of rear clutch
- Noise generated
