Transmission Mode Switch: Description and Operation
TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCHColumn-shaft Transmission Control Switch:
On automatic transmission equipped vehicles, the transmission control switch provides an input signal to the PCM whenever the switch is pressed. For F-SuperDuty/Excursion, the tow/haul indicator will illuminate when the transmission control switch is cycled to engage and disengage the tow/haul strategy. For E-Series, the overdrive cancel indicator will illuminate when the transmission control switch is cycled to engage or disengage the overdrive function of the transmission.
