Two 78 ampere-hour, maintenance-free batteries are mounted on the right-hand frame rail.

The diesel battery system consists of the following components:
- battery
- auxiliary battery
- battery cables
- battery cases







Environmental Protection
Ford Motor Company strongly recommends that lead-acid batteries be returned to an authorized recycling facility for disposal.
