Remote locking and unlocking of the doors is accomplished by the vehicle security module (VSM) receiving a command message from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter through the VSM internal antenna. The VSM processes the command and energizes the appropriate lock or unlock relays. The RKE transmitter has a normal operating range of 10 m (33 ft).
