Principles of Operation
The oil pump draws oil from the oil pan through the oil pickup tube and passages in the upper oil pan and the engine front cover. Pressurized oil then passes through the oil cooler, oil filter and is supplied to the turbocharger, engine and reservoir for the high-pressure oil system. The oil then drains back to the oil pan.
