ISSUE
Some 2010 Flex vehicles built 6/1/2009 - 8/3/2009 may experience the rear liftgate window washer inoperative. This may be due to the elbow connection of the rear washer feed tube has become disconnected in the engine compartment area.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Identify if the elbow connection for the rear washer feed tube located beside the right shock tower under the strut brace has become disconnected. (Figure 1 and 2)
a. If the elbow connection already has a tie strap in place, stop with this procedure and continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-16 diagnostics.
b. If the elbow connection, does not have a tie strap, go to Step 2.
2. Install the elbow connector back onto the feed tube and add a tie strap to the connection. The tie strap may be obtained locally and should measure approximately 8" (20.3 cm) long x 3/16" (4.5 mm) wide. Trim off excess tie strap after securing elbow connection back onto feed tube. (Figure 3)
3. Verify rear window washer operation. If the rear washer operation remains inoperative, continue with normal WSM, Section 501-16 diagnostics.
