Instrument Panel Upper Section
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the instrument panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel Instrument Panel.
2. Remove the passenger air bag module. For additional information, refer to Restraint Systems.
3. Remove the center instrument panel finish panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel Finish Panel - Center Instrument Panel Finish Panel - Center.
4. Remove the Instrument Cluster (IC). For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
5. Remove the headlamp switch.
6. Remove the 2 screws and detach from the Data Link Connector (DLC) from the instrument panel.
7. Remove the 4 bolts and the LH instrument panel reinforcement plate.
8. Remove the 21 instrument panel screws.
- Remove the 3 screws from the audio unit opening.
- Remove the 2 glove compartment striker screws, 2 screws glove compartment hinge screws and the 2 screws below the glove compartment opening.
- Remove the 2 screws facing rearward though the glove compartment opening.
- Remove the 2 screws from the passenger air bag module opening.
- Remove the 2 screws from the IC opening.
- Remove the 6 screws from the LH and RH sides of the instrument panel.
9. NOTICE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the instrument panel upper section assembly or damage to the components may occur.
Remove the instrument panel upper section assembly.
10. NOTICE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are correctly routed when installing the instrument panel upper section assembly or damage to the components may occur.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer parts as needed.
- To install, make sure to align the retaining clips to the adjacent retaining clip holes.
