Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

Principles of Operation

The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are controlled by using ignition switched voltage through the headlamp switch to the DRL relay. When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the DRL relay is energized. Voltage is provided to the parking lamps and through a resistor wire to the low beams. The low beams are illuminated at a reduced intensity.
