LACK OF HEAT AT IDLE AND/OR SLOW TO
DEFROST - 15 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT (-9 DEGREES
CELSIUS) OR BELOW

FORD:
2010 Transit Connect

ISSUE
Some 2010 Transit Connects may exhibit lack of heating at idle and/or slow to defrost, at 15 Degrees Fahrenheit (-9 Degrees Celsius) ambient temperatures or below.

ACTION
Follow the service procedure to correct the concern.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Is DTC P0128 present?

a. Yes - This article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-03 Pinpoint Test C.

b. No - Proceed to Step 2.

2. Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 76.04 or later and 77.01 or higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.1 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
