FACTORY INSTALLED BLUETOOTH - PAIRING
(BONDING) ISSUES
FORD:
2010 Transit Connect
ISSUE
Some 2010 Transit Connect vehicles equipped with factory installed Bluetooth Voice Control system may exhibit a pairing (bonding) concern. It may not be possible to end a call and/or initiate redial.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Lower the glove compartment completely to gain access to the Speech Recognition Module (SRM).
2. Install the special Bluetooth� Voice Control Interface (VCI) cable assembly to the rear of the SRM.
3. Download the update file from the PTS website to an empty universal serial bus (USB) flash drive.
a. Access PIS.
b. Select by Year and Model.
c. 2010 Transit Connect.
d. Select Upgrade/Mods tab.
e. Follow instructions on Bluetooth� Voice Control Upgrade.
NOTE
SPECIAL BLUETOOTH(R)/ VCI CABLE ASSEMBLY IS TO REMAIN INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE.
4. Remove the flash drive and secure the VCI cable assembly to the vehicle main wiring harness. (Figure 1)
5. Position back the glove compartment.
